Dr. Jagdish Chander attended International CME-cum-Conference on “Hospital Acquired Superbugs: Return to Pre-antibiotics Era?” at MMIMSR, Mullana (Ambala) on February 4-5, 2012 and delivered a Guest Lecture entitled, “Emerging and Re-emerging Hospital Acquired Super Bugs (Fungal and Parasites)”. He presented a paper entitled, “Isolation of mucormycetes from various clinical entities presenting in a tertiary care hospital of north India along with antifungal susceptibility testing” during 18th Congress of International Society for Human and Animal Mycology (ISHAM) held on June 11-15, 2012 at Berlin (Germany). He has attended national CME-cum-MICROCON (NW)-2012 on Diarrhoeal Diseases held on October 6, 2012 at Guru Nanak Dev Hospital, Amritsar. He organized the AIDS Training under the auspices of NACO, SACS implementing NACP IV in October-November 2012 at GMCH, Chandigarh. He presented a paper entitled, “Fungal rhinosinusitis: Mycological profile of clinically suspected cases undergoing functional endoscopic sinus surgery in a tertiary care hospital in north India” during the 36th National Conference of IAMM (MICROCON-2012), November 22-25, 2012 at New Delhi. He participated in the CME and chaired a scientific session in Alumni Meet at PGIMER, Chandigarh on 14.12.2012. He participated as resource person in the Training on Bacteriological Techniques for Water and Wastewater Analysis and Quality Assurance jointly organized by School of Public Health, PGIMER, Chandigarh and Department of Environment Studies, Panjab University, Chandigarh on February 18-22, 2013. He participated in the Pre-Conference CME on Surveillance of Healthcare Associated Infections on February 7, 2013 at Seth GS Medical College & KEM Hospital, Mumbai and XIIth National Conference on Prevention and Control of Healthcare Associate Infections (HISICON-2013) on February 8-9, 2013 at Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai; presented a paper entitled, “Incidence, speciation and antifungal susceptibility testing of Candidemia patients from ICU in a tertiary care centre” and chaired one of the scientific sessions. He participated in Laboratory Techniques for Diagnosis of STI/RTI on February 25-26, 2013 at the Apex/Regional STD Teaching, Training & Research Centre, VMMC & Safadarjang Hospital, New Delhi, organised by DSACS. He is member of national Zygomycosis as well as Candidemia Networks 2011-2012 (upto September) under the aegis of SIHAM. He is regular inspector of the MCI for MBBS as well as MD (Microbiology) degrees recognition. He is examiner to the DNB, MD and PhD under various universities in the subject of Microbiology. He is reviewer of many National and International journals in the filed of clinical microbiology and medical mycology.
