Dr. Sanjay D'Cruz, MD, DNB, DM (Nephrology), MNAMS, FISN, FRCP London received his postgraduate training in Internal Medicine and Nephrology at PGIMER Chandigarh. He joined Government Medical College, Chandigarh as Assistant Professor in 1998 . He was promoted as an Associate Professor in 2006 and subsequently as a Professor in 2010. He is currently heading the department since 2020. He is credited to have started the nephrology services in this institute. He is also currently heading the renal unit.
He was awarded scholarship by the International Society of Nephrology in the year 1997 and visited Sydney, Australia on this scholarship program. He went as a visiting professor in the faculty of medicine to Jianxi Chinese Medical University, Peoples Republic of China in the year 2007. He has been awarded membership of National Academy of Medical Sciences in 2009. He is life member of Life member Indian Society of Nephrology (ISN), Indian Society of Organ Transplantation (ISOT), Indian Society of Haemodialysis (ISHD) and Indian Society of Peritoneal Dialysis (ISPD). He has received prestigious fellowships including Fellow of Indian Society of Nephrology (FISN) in 2015 and Fellow of Royal College of Physicians (FRCP) London in 2021. He has over 100 national and international publications to his credit. He also serves as editorial board member and reviewer for several international and national journals. He is a faculty for National Board of Examination. He has held senior executive positions in professional bodies like councillor of Asia Pacific Society of Nephrology from 2013-2018, executive member in the governing body of ISN (Indian Society of Nephrology) from 2011-2015 and Vice President of North Zone Indian Society of Nephrology from 2021-22.
