Dr. Monica Gupta

Dr Monica Gupta, MBBS (AIIMS), MD Medicine (AIIMS), DNB Medicine, received her undergraduate and postgraduate training from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. She joined Government Medical College, Chandigarh as Assistant Professor through UPSC in 2005. She subsequently received prestigious fellowships, namely FICP, MAMS, FIMSA, FIACM, and Fellow IMA-AMS and FGSI.  She has been awarded Advanced Course in Medical Education (ACME) From CMCL Nodal Centre, Ludhiana and she is a faculty trainer for Revised Basic Course Workshop and Curriculum Implementation Support Programme. Currently, she is serving as Professor in the Department of General Medicine at Government Medical College and Hospital, Chandigarh. She has several original publications and book chapters. She is an active member of various organizations (API, IAG, IMA, IRA, RSSDI, DIPSI, ISBMR). She has been awarded the best researcher for two consecutive years. She is a LASI – DAD investigator for nationwide longitudinal study on elderly. She is also National TOT for NPHCE for elderly. She also serves as editorial board member and reviewer for multiple journals. She is a faculty for National Board of Examination, New Delhi and National Academy of Medical Sciences. She has been actively involved in preparing the competency based MBBS and MD Medicine curricula. She has participated in the development of interactive cases for i-Human virtual patient system for enhancing medical education in India and also developed training modules for elderly and TOT under NPHCE, MOHFW.
