| 1. | The department of Surgery organized a CME on Ano-rectal diseases from 3rd-4th April 2010 and established Ksharsutra Therapy Centre with the grant in aid from Department of AYUSH Ministry of Health Govt of India. This Ayurvedic Technique centre is first of its kind to be established in an Allopathic teaching hospital. The centre is aimed to provide Ksharsutra Therapy in various Ano-Rectal problems. Also the doctors from both the systems i.e Allopathic as well as Ayurvedic shall be imparted training in Ksharsutra Therapy. Inaugurated by Smt. Laxmi Kanta Chawla. |

| 3. | Department of Surgery, Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh in collaboration with Society for Social Research Art and Culture, New Delhi organized a workshop on ‘Rehabilitation of Torture Survivors’ on 20th August 2011. |
| 4. | Department of Surgery, Government Medical College & Hospital, Chandigarh organized 4th National conference of Indian Hernia Society (IHS) a live workshop cum conference on 19th& 20th November, 2011. |
