1. Dr. Suresh Kumar, HOD Ophthalmology awarded a Gold Medal for “EXCELLENCE“ in Ophthalmology during 16th Annual Conference of Uttarakhand State Ophthalmological Society held on 11th - 13th October,2019.
2. Dr. Sonia Phulke completed long term ICO Fred Hollow Foundation Oculoplastics fellowship from Singapore National Eye Centre, Singapore in March, 2020.
Special Initiatives for prevention of COVID 19 among health care workers
1. The training on COVID-19 has been given by Dr. Suresh Kumar, HOD-Ophthalmology and Dr. Subina Narang, Associate Professor to all the faculty, Sr. Residents, Junior Residents, Paramedical Staff , Ministerial Staff and Attendants of Ophthalmology Department on rotation basis in the month of May,2020.
2. Dr. Parul Ichhpujani, Associate Professor :-
i. Completed an Online Certified Course from Harvard Medical School on, "The Telephone and the Telemedicine in Clinical Medicine: An Instrument of Opportunity and Risk" on April 14, 2020.
ii. Completed an Online Course on COVID 19: Operational Planning Guidelines and COVID 19 Partners Platform to support country preparedness and response”
Any other achievements
- The project entitled, “Angiogenic and Inflammatory Biomarkers of Non-responders to anti VEGF Therapy in Diabetic Macular Edema” has been approved by MDRU in May,2020. Dr. Subina Narang, Associate Professor is the Principal Investigator of the said project.
- Incidence and Risk Factors of Retinopathy of Prematurity Among Preterm Neonates Born at > 30 weeks of Gestation in an Accredited Level 2 Nursery- DST Chandigarh funded project. Dr. Subina Narang, Associate Professor is the principal Investigator for the said project.
- Project entitled, ”Design and Development of Artificial Intelligence framework using Data Analytics for detection of chronic illness from Retinal Images Dr. Parul Ichhpujani, Associate Professor. as Principal Investigator of the said project. The project has been approved by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MEITY), Govt. of India, in collaboration with CDAC, Mohali.
