IMSA intends to provide online access to its Fellows & Members regarding its Objectives, Scopes, Academic activities and its quarterly Journal (JIMSA).

IMSA was established on March 28, 1981 on a world wide basis, with the goal of raising health standards through better health care services, medical education and medical research.

The Academy has its World Headquarter at New Delhi, the capital of India. It is an associate member of the Council for International Organisations of Medical Sciences (CIOMS), Geneva

The Academy has been registered under the Societies Act XXI of 1860 no. S/11630 of 1981 at New Delhi, India.

It has around 2000 highly renowned Fellows and Members of multi specialties all overthe world.

The administration, direction and management of the affairs of the IMSA are vested in the Board of Trustees (BOT) and are exercised by the Central Executive Committee (CEC) composed of the officers of IMSA viz. President, Vice Presidents, Secretary-General, Treasurer and the Life Members. '

Benefits:

(i) Annual Conference : Academy sponsors an Annual Conference with focus on interdisciplinary approach to a topic of common interest, alternately in India and Abroad. So far the conferences have been organized in different parts of India, Nepal, Mauritius, Cambridge University UK, Mayo Clinic USA, Lahore Medical College Pakistan etc.

(ii) Continuing Medical Education : The Academy is promoting CME in India and abroad. Of late IMSA fellows are engaged in organising RURAL CME as part of the chapter activity.

(iii) Professional recognition: Award of fellowship I membership (FIMSAI MIMSA) is a recognition of professional excellence of a Fellow I Member and his/her contribution to medical education and public health. Awardees can affix FIMSA/MIMSA after their names.

(iv) Journal: JIMSA, a quarterly publication, is supplied free to all Fellows I Members. Non Fellows I Non Members can also get the JIMSA copy on payment and/or access the website (www.jimsaonline.com)

Eligibility :

1. Graduation from a Medical School I College acceptable to IMSA and

    Registered with the Medical Council of India.

2. Post-Graduate Medical Qualifications.

3. For Fellowship - Eight years standing in the profession after post

    graduation.

4. For Membership - Four years standing in the profession after post

    graduation.

5. Work of eminence in his I her own field.

6. Specialty in a particular Branch.

Privileges:

a. To be present and vote at all Conventions.

b. To propose and recommend candidates for Fellowship.

c. To introduce visitors at the Annual Conventions of the IMSA.

d. To have personal access to the Library of the IMSA.

e. To take out books, plates, drawings, manuscripts etc. from the Library

    subject to such regulations as may be prescribed by the Executive Committee.

f. To receive copies of the proceedings and transactions of IMSA issued during the continuance                of their Fellowship and of such other publications as the Executive Committee may decide from time to time and subject to the direction of the Executive Committee, purchase at reduced price any of the IMSA publication.

g. To fill any office in the IMSA on being duly elected.

h. To promote scientific activities of the IMSA, especially in their own

     section I chapters I units.
